NEW HQ - YOUR HELP IS NEEDED

As you must now be aware in January 2010 we received planning permission to build a new clubhouse including changing facilities at Central Park.

The provision of a new club alongside our ground has been a long standing ambition of many. This key milestone is the first step towards achieving this goal but now we have greater challenges to face - a little matter of raising the capital!

The reality is that in order to achieve our objectives we must secure £750k and whilst this may appear an unrealistic target, at first glance, you need to be aware that a significant proportion of this can be realised from:
1. The sale of the existing clubhouse, currently on the market at a value of £150k

2. The sale of No1 The Parade again currently on the market at a value of £100k

3. The new plans include a retail unit and the officers are currently in negotiations with an interested party which is likely to provide a further £100k
In broad terms, allowing for some movement we hope that the fund raising target can realistically be reduced to £450k - still a significant amount.

The club have established a sub group to identify options for raising the capital and ultimately delivering the new facility. The group have identified potential grant aid that may be available, are finalising a business plan and looking to reduce build costs. However, we will still need to raise money to support the development and it is to this end that we need your help.

We are considering many ways to raise funds and the first three schemes we are preparing are:-
1. 500 CLUB
2. Buy a brick
3. Foundation Member
500 CLUB
Members of the club will contribute £5 per month by Standing order and a draw will take place on the last Thursday of each month in the Clubhouse.

Two cash prizes will be offered
1st - 35% of takings
2nd - 15% of takings

The more members the greater the prize fund so why not get your family and friends to join in.

If you would like to join then please complete the Standing order mandate enclosed and return it to the club for the attention of Nigel Phillips.

Buy a Brick
For a donation of £10 per brick we will initially put your name / company name on a temporary board in the existing club to recognise your contribution. On the completion of the new facility a permanent inscription on a plague / presentation board will be provided.

There is no limit to the amount of bricks you can buy so if you would like to start us off then please complete the enclosed form and send it to the clubhouse again for the attention of Owen Pearce(Hotdog) or Nigel Phillips.

Foundation Member
For those Companies or Individuals who would like to make a larger contribution to the development, then you have the option to become a foundation member.

A one off contribution of £250 a foundation member will have their name on a temporary Board in the existing clubhouse to recognise your contribution. On the completion of the new facility a permanent inscription on a plaque/ Presentation board will be provided.

In addition you will be invited to one of the home fixtures next season after which we shall hold a buffet in the clubhouse after the match, and I'm sure a few drinks will be provided.

If you are interested in becoming a foundation member then please complete the form attached and send it together with your donation to Nigel Phillips at the Clubouse.

The sub group is already discussing other fund raising events from concerts to dinners but would welcome any further suggestions.

In addition to all of the above, we are also identifying ways in which to reduce construction costs. The intention is to identify all the construction activities and then hopefully identify members, friends and local companies that may be able to help us. Watch out for further details on this.

I appreciate this is a lengthy letter but there is a lot of information to get to you at what is an exciting time for the club.

If you would like to discuss any issue relating to the development, then please catch up with one of the sub group members:
• Barrie Laskey (Chairman)
• Nigel Phillips
• Owen Pearce (Hot Dog)
• Chris Smith
• Alan Lewis
• Ceri Thomas
• Geoff Walsh
• Roger Beard

Many thanks, Regards

The committee
