First Team manager Steve O'Hara gives his opinion on the Corwen match....

We travelled to Corwen with seven players missing through injury, holiday or work, five of which were ruled out just 12 hours before the game.

We knew it was going to be a real “backs to the wall” performance and I asked the players to dig deep for the 90 mins. It got worse after a few minutes with Dave Worsley picking up a knock and Corwen taking the lead whilst he was struggling. After that it was all about us and we took control of the game creating chances and limiting the hosts to counter attack opportunities.

At half time we felt we were more than a match for them and I just asked to lift the tempo. We came out and again were in control and deserved to get back level when great play by Mikey Wright on the right crossed for Joey Brizell to loop a header over the keeper. Then from a well worked corner we took the lead through Mike Pugh heading in at the near post. Unfortunately we couldn't keep it like that and as I've been saying in the last 3 or 4 games individual errors cost us getting anything out of the game.

At all levels of football mistakes happen and we are having our fair share of them. But the players can be proud of their commitment and attitude. The performances are getting better with each game and our luck will turn. We are not in any danger in my opinion so this is a building process for the club and it's going to take time.

Thanks for all the people who took the trip down to support the lads it means a lot to us. Next up is Hawarden on Tuesday night.

Many thanks
Steve Ohara
1st team manager
