Loch Lomond travelled to Glasgow on Saturday knowing that a tough game was in hand. Some changes had to be made due to availability, Wiggin's making his first start for the first team, also the Flynn brothers made their comeback after a couple of weeks off. However spirits were high after a good performance the previous week.

Lomond started the game brightly with the forwards making good yards up the field. They set up a good platform for Lewsley to release Thomson. The young centre made great yards and at one point looked like he would sail through for the opening try. However he was caught just short, but good recycling from the forwards gave Nicholson a chance. He barged over the try line but the referee deemed that it was knocked forward. A scrum was rewarded to Phoenix on the own 5 yard line, but Norrie managed to steal it back giving the away side another chance at opening the account. After several attempts Dennison barged over the line. The conversion was missed, however Lomond thought that the game was in the bag so came off the gas allowing Phoenix back into the game with a penalty which was converted. Lomond were vacant for the rest of the first half however Phoenix failed to capitalise on this and only scored a further penalty taking the score to 6-5 by half time.

Some stern words were exchanged at half time and this was what was needed for Lomond to get back into the game.

The second half started strongly for Lomond as they took the game to Phoenix playing a lot of time in their half. The forwards started to take the game in their hands setting up a serious of quick rucks and mauls. Phoenix started to struggling with the power of Lomond forwards and after a serious of quick rucks Thomson was released on the wing and the young centre scored on the touchline. The conversion was again missed. Lomond then conceded a try after the Phoenix winger cleverly chipped and chased touching down in the corner, the conversion was missed.

This gave Lomond the final push to see the game out with further scores from Todd, Norrie and Wiggin's who rounded off a good performance on the wing. The jinky winger side stepped a few tacklers and touched down. Wiggin's celebration's had people thinking that his numbers had came in on the Euro Millions but Lomond weren't complaining. This time Nicholson converted.

The final whistle went and Lomond were happy to leave with the 5 points. Lomond were guilty of coming off the gas but when they put some effort in it showed that there is some real class within this team.
