When the prolific blueboys attack has an off day up stepped the defence to remind them where the goals are.
An early Mark Paradise goal in the 15th minute set the blueboys on their way but the holders London Lions were not lying down and took control for long stages in the first half without being able to breach an on form Colney defence.
HT London Colney 1 v 0 London Lions.
The second half saw the holders carry on from whence they left off with all the pressure against a lethargic looking Colney team, unable to stem the visitors attack, finally Andy Glynne broke the home defence and scored in the 53rd minute to bring the scores level.
Even then there seemed to be a spark missing from the home side and the visitors through Glynne again took the lead in the 83rd minute.
With the visitors thinking that they had done enough, a quick reply by Kenny Hull saw Colney scoring a minute later after a mistake by visiting keeper this sparked the home team to life, when extra time seemed to be looming Danny McCafferty settled the result in the 88th minute by converting a chance to secure a hard earned victory and an away semi final game against Metropolitan Police Bushey on the 11th February 2012.
