3 Teams See Out 'Hot Rod's' Last Stand!
Club stalwart plays last match as 1s have weekend off.
Australian back row 'Hot Rod' Petre plays his last match for the club on Saturday before returning to his beloved Sydney, Australia, following 5 years at the club in which he has played 38 matches for the 1s in league and cup scoring 8 tries, and countless other matches across the teams at LCRFC in a variety of positions from open side through centre to full back, his searing pace enabling him to be as at home in the backs as he is in the back row. Rod, who was in outstanding form in winning Man of the Match for the 2s in their great win at Hove last weekend, will play for the 2s again in the pivotal match against 2nd placed Dorking at home in RugbyTech Shield Div 3. He will be missed and we wish him well.
Elsehere, a few 1s players will make long awaited returns from injuries, fly half Rich McKeown will have a run for the 2s, and centre Iain Short for the Choughs who host West London 2s in the Middlesex Merit Table Div 4, both players after over 10 weeks out. The Dukes are also in action, heading to Mitcham to play a Club XV in a friendly. Catch all the scores right here on Saturday night!
