Captain 'Theo' Returns As Cornish Face The 'Mighty Warl'

London Cornish are boosted by the return of captain Dave Theobald for Saturday's trip to Warlingham in London Two South-West.

Theobald (pictured) has missed the games against Winchester and Portsmouth with injury, but is now ready to resume tight-head propping duties at Limpsfield Road this weekend.

Warlingham, the original club of England captain Chris Robshaw are newly promoted to the division for this year, and presently have a record of two wins and two defeats. Perhaps surprisingly both of their wins have come away from home at Old Alleynians (15-11) and last weekend at fellow new-boys Tadley Tigers (56-22). The Surrey side, known as 'The Mighty Warl' have so far hosted Old Reigatian and unbeaten Tottonians which resulted in 19-16 and 36-3 defeats respectively.

With Cornish now two points clear at the top of the table, there is no doubt that they now come with a bit of a target attached to them. Warlingham will feel it is high time they recorded a first home win, and will be extra keen to do it against the exiles.

By car, the route is A3, then A23 followed by the A22 at Downs Court where you join the A2022. Stay on the A2022. After around 4 miles, turn right onto Mitchley Hill and then the second exit on the roundabout onto Limpsfield Road B269. The ground is along this road. For sat nav users, the postcode is CR6 9RB. For those travelling to the game by train, the recommended service is via Clapham Junction to Upper Warlingham, with the ground a longish walk, or taxi ride from there.

The 2s will be looking to build on their win at London Scottish Claymores last weekend and this week host Richmond Normans in the Zoo Sports Shield Division Three in a clash which kicks off at 2:15pm. Richmond have presently won all three of their league games this season, but crucially, their trip to The REMPF this weekend will be their first away game, so the 2s will hope to make it two wins in a row.

The Choughs have no league game this weekend, and are looking to arrange a friendly. News on a fixture for them will be posted here when it comes to hand.

The Dukes are at The REMPF for a Middlesex Merit Table Division Two match against Wasps FC IIs. This one kicks off at 2:00pm. The visitors are just five points ahead of The Dukes in the league, and so a good close game should be in prospect.

If you are not travelling to Warlingham to support the 1s, why not come down to support the 2s or Dukes at The REMPF this Saturday - great rugby is guaranteed.
