Colossal Clash For Both Sides As Points Make Prizes!
London Cornish head to Weybridge Vandals in London Two South-West on Saturday, in a game which is absolutely massive for both sides.
'The Exiles' know that five points from their remaining two matches will ensure a place in the London Two South promotion play-off tie for the second successive year. However, 'The Vandals' need for points is equally urgent at the other end of the table.
Weybridge are battling it out with Andover to avoid the final relegation spot into London Three South-West. At the present time, Vandals are two points in arrears of the Hampshire side, with their final two games against ourselves and away to already relegated Basingstoke. Andover travel to KCS Old Boys on Saturday - never an easy trip, before finishing up at home to Effingham & Leatherhead. Therefore, Vandals will see Saturday's clash with the 'Black & Golds' as massively important to ensure survival.
Going into the game, Weybridge have recorded four wins (Home to Basingstoke 30-7, KCS Old Boys 23-19, Old Reigatian 17-3, and away to Warlingham 15-3) and a draw (19-19 at Andover at the start of the month) from their twenty league games so far. They came mightily close to gaining a famous win at The REMPF in December as they built a 20-0 lead against Cornish before eventually succumbing 22-20 to a magnificent 'Exiles' fightback - so the Black and Golds have been warned! Kick-off is 3:00pm.
The Dukes are scheduled to take on Thamesians of Herts/Middlesex II in the Annual 'Drink The Bar Dry' Cup at their Twickenham Green home on Saturday - confirmation of the fixture and a kick-off time is due tomorrow (Friday).
