5 goals without reply saw the men's 3s get the result of the day in a 7 win weekend
The boys can likely claim the result of the day with the most goals for and a clean sheet thanks to the steady hands (feet) of David Snell and the stoic defensive skills of the big guys at the back. It was 1-0 at half time courtesy of Phil Pagels but it was the second half when things really came alive. Alex bossed the mid-field. ably assisted by Doug and Thelma, and the forwards kept running to provide plenty of targets up front. It was a testament to how well their keeper played that the game didn't end in a double digit defeat but there was little he could do to stop the insatiable Pagels who struck a beautiful reverse stick finish from the top of the D and finished 2 tidy short corners to bring his personal tally for the game to 4. A late goal from Duncan showed that it's not a one-man show up front and the boys are looking nicely warned up for their fixture against evil Camberley in a fortnight's time (we're not talking genocide evil here (unless you've heard different) but poor sportsmanship and gamesmanship are the kind of deplorable sins that are right up there with smoking and child rape and we're expecting our boys to unleash a can of pious fury on those two-faced gits).
