Maidstone - Home

By James Porcas, 18th Feb 2011

So it's been a while since apost match report...

London welcomed maidstone to see if they could improve on their 7-7 draw earlier on in the season. If was a muddy day meaning this was going to be a messy game. Missing a few players but seeing the timely return of former london boy griffin, should be a good game.

London initially stormed to a 4-0 lead with maidstone's zonal defence be laughed at while rick and nate shreaded their defense. Maidstone gave up their zonal defense and stole 2 quick goals to make it 4-2 at the end of the first.

The second quarter turned out to be a quite affair with no goals scored.

Rick cleaned up his 4th hatrick in 3 games at the start of the 3rd and porky taking a shot from the top wasnt but maidstone started to show their colours scoring 3 to londons 2 to make it 6-5 london at the end of the 3rd.

It was going to a tough final quarter. London get a briliant early goal disallowed due to offside. Porky scores a second from a feed from mike to make extend their lead to 7-5. However 3 from maidstone take it to 7-8 maidstone with minutes to go....10 seconds to go and after a prolonged london attack, still nothing. Ball goes to rick...5...rick dances...4...still dancing...3...2...still dancing...1...winds up...0.5...shoots, scores, whistle.

London 8 , Maidstone 8

After gin and burgers in spoons, london headed to the Haxby where things got messy. Starting with beer hockey and then migrating to speed quarters (introduced by griffin). Tai found himself a women who appeared to be easier than playing mixed lacrosse. On transition to the rocket however things went bad with casualties including nate's phone and pest long pole...RIP
