First Home Weekend Season 2014-2015

Saturday 20th September also saw a couple of hundred players and families from current teams and past years, fun for everyone to kick off the season in great style. With Dewi on duty with clubs and school in Oxford it’s now down to his little sister Delilah to keep the family tradition going in Richmond. Delilah spent all afternoon with our mini players and children of the adult players before retiring to the family home under the Grandstand to pump up balls for sunday mini rugby.

A new crop of amateur players, helped with a few old heads and an appearance from 'The Rev' to make it a memorable night. In their finest Hawaiian gear and following the club tradition clutching their ’photo of Barry John’ songs were sung and bounds reformed after the long summer away from rugby.

Sunday morning saw 300 mini’s at ODP before many of them went off to run in the Richmond Children’s 1K races. Both Dewi and Delilah went to watch the races and represent their club but on a very hot Sunday’s afternoon Dewi had to find a cool bar to quench his fire leaving Alex Davies and Sonny Parker to cuddle his sister. Around the same time the U15a and U15b were taking on Reading, the Welsh teams looking very sharp and running in some great tries.

And not wanting to be beaten we still had a game to go with London Welsh Woman playing their first home match of the season in the late summer sun. Reading Ladies put up very strong first half opposition but during the second half the LW Women showed some superior handling and fitness going on to win

Why not take a look at the album and see what its like to #BePartofIt #LWFamily
