LONGBENTON FC NORTH EAST AMATURE CUP HOPES STILL ALIVE AFTER IMPRESSIVE AWAY WIN AT CRAMLINGTON TOWN

The Bulls continued on their journey for silverware with an impressive display of controlled football and clinical finishing in this Group 'A' match of the North East Amature Cup.
Cramlington Town, this seasons League runners up, played some good quality football in the first 20 minutes after which Longbenton started to take control

Marc Moon was dominating the Midfield for the bulls and it was Moon's slid rule pass in the 41st minute that put ROB WOODS through just inside the box to drive low into the corner of the goal. 1 v 0.
The second half saw Longbenton dominate and dictate the play creating many chances which they were unable to capitalize on. Niall THUBRON, dominated his area but the Bulls Keeper never had a serious shots to deal with all afternoon.
The game was over in 61st minute when a flick on header by Richy Charlton saw DAVID SHORT, out muscle and out pace the central defender to go through one on one with the Keeper, SHORT coolly rounded the keeper to slot into the net 0 v 2. This was DAVID SHORT's 50th Goal for Longbenton FC a new club record.
No way back for Cramlington now, In the 72 minute Mark Moon slid a pass wide on the right for DAVID HEATHERINGTON to race onto and cut in, his first shot half blocked but the second screamed into the net giving the keeper no chance,
79th Saw Dickinson and Heaterington taken off after both having putting in a real sound shift, Malven and Wiseman came on as Subs.
Man of the Match was awarded to Steve MacLane
