LONGBENTON only needed a draw on their vist to Ponteland Utd Res to secure 3rd place in the league for the season.
On a blustery afternoon the wind became a great skills leveller and although Longbenton dominated the game it was scrappy. However, just before half time in the 42 minute, a piece of class changed that as a incoming cross was back heel flicked on by DAVID SHORT for Rob Wood to drive home inside the box. 0 v 1
Half-Time 0 v 1
Second half was still spoilt by the wind as both teams struggled to control the ball, with the BULLS having the better of it. The game was killed of by a Longbenton goal in the 78 minute by that man again DAVID SHORT who pounced on a lose ball after a Rob Wood dribble into the box was half cleared. That was DAVID SHORT's 23 goal of the season and his 46th goal for the Club.
It was also thanks to Scott Wiseman and the defence that this was the first Clean sheet for the Bull since 3rd December 2011, although they still Finnish with the 2nd best defensive record in the league
DAVID SHORT was awarded Man of the Match
