Long Eaton had all the excuses, long travel, delayed kick off, team disruption etc. However they maintained their 100% start to the season with bonus point win at Spalding.
This wasn't pretty by a long stretch. After a blistering two try start, the young Long Eaton team had to guts it out in a tough encounter.
Masters of their own downfall nearly? Discipline caused all sorts of problems, 34 penalties conceded, a double yellow and the Blues conceded 17 points in that 13 minutes spell, kept the Lincolnshire side interested. Five tries, two on Debut for Man of the Match Veenendaal, Atu, Cooke and Freer, with two conversions by Finney gave the Blues the spoils.
The Long Eaton team spurned numerous other chances, in what should have been a comfortable win, however credit must go Spalding who made the Blues work the hardest they have had to this season.
