Team: Webb, Armstrong, Marshall, Rhodes, Thurman, Webster, Hunter, Hancock, Mellor-blaire, Weightman (Dwane 66), J Hooley(Jarvis 72);
subs: A Hooley, Dakin.

No team sheet or announcement and a lot of new players i hope ive got this right but if i haven't im sure someone will tell me.

Was going round telling people at the start that they could not buy the team a drink after the game as most were under age but i must admit i was wrong as only one is under 18 our most celebrated captain Armstrong. Also must admit was not expecting much from this as they murdered us at there place earlier in the season.but what do i know about football???

a bit of nip and tuck to start as a Hunter cross only just missed Hoolys foot in the box then Parkgate head over. Hunter with a run down the right and down the line to Hooley into the box to find Hancock but he could only weekly hit the ball with his left foot but even though it only just missed.
A Parkgate free kick on the corner of the box was well dwelt with but we could not stop the ball fulling to a Parkgate player just outside the box, his effort went over.

I felt they were a bit unsure at the back but we refused to boot the ball down the pitch as we tried to play it forward from the back. Some good work from Hooley got him into the box but he then put wide.

A couple of great saves from Webb as a corner came in how he got to the ball ill never know doing enough to keep it out but not enough to prevent it going to a Parkgate player, the defenders took over and did enough to close him down and concede a corner. This corner produced real back to the wall stuff as we cleared a number of times before finally putting out for yet another Parkgate corner, this one was dwelt with and cleared. It was Webb again who saved us as a player got round us on the right to the byline only for Webb to stand in and stop the danger.

I think we had them worried as Hunter again found Hooley on the left he was brought down and we got the free kick, suddenly all the Parkgate players were in the box to defend it. Even so we only just put wide.

Suddenly we were on top and it was Parkgate with their backs to the wall but they defended well. Then near the half Weightman found himself running in to the box from the right on goal he shot and the keeper dived not too sure what happened but the ball hit the post and though the ref gave a goal kick there were some who thought he got a hand to it.

So half time came earlier than i expected as a Parkgate player was down for ages but he only put on one and a half.

The third quarter was much the same as the others with both teams having chances they shot wide then headed wide from a cross. Then a great throw from Webb got Mellor away he was closed down and did well to get round them but finally he run out of space and the ball went out for a goal kick.

Dwane was introduced and started to make his mark a cross from the right only just went over Hooley but found Mellor wide left and his effort only just went wide of far post. A Armstrong corner followed and realizing the wind was on his side tried to curle it in and once again it was just a little too much. Another Armstrong corner after a Hunter cross hit a defender almost found Hancock but the sun was in his eyes and he could not get any thing on it.

Hancock had another effort as an Armstrong free kick came in Parkgate cleared to Hancock but once again his effort went wide.

After a couple of dangerous Parkgate corners the last quarter was ours as they seemed to fade as the young blood kicked in and kept us going. But as we pushed we could not get that goal but it did not matter as the draw had us all lifted and going home very happy.

For what it is worth
well cant say much as they played really well but was that we were not expecting much from a young team a bit of both i expect but if we can build on what we have got and no one comes in to buy our good players off us things look good.

Very droll PJ! Up to the great escape match with Nostell last month, i missed 5 home games running because i had to work. Been ready for duty on the mike again for the last 2 matches, but the speakers have not been rigged up outside in the stand. DJ Krusty has a new CD of entrance tunes waiting to be unleashed onto you, my eagerly awaiting audience! Not sure about the sounding depressed bit though?
