Albion Sports ground share with AFC Farsley ( Farsley Celtic before going bust)a familiar ground to original NCEL people.

Throstles nest is looking a bit tired, surrounded by new houses. The bar and lounge is very well looked after but the dressing rooms shabby, seats that weren't smashed old and dirty and the netting put up to stop balls going into gardens looked terrible.

Manager Charlie Palmer brought Dominic Allen in for Michael Armstrong and Joe McCormack returned for the suspended Mason but kept the same formation that has seen his team lose only 2 from the last 10 games in a busy period.

Long Eaton had a good first half with the majority of the play, Rickford and Gowing should have scored from Courey Grantham crosses but somehow found themselves 2-0 down at half time due to sloppy defending.

The second half saw a more attacking Blues, Grantham and James causing havoc with their speed and it only took 8 minutes of the second half for the lively James to round the keeper and squeeze in a great finish from a tight angle. Manager Palmer, unhappy with not winning the loose ball in midfield sent on Justin Jenkins and his precence rattled the Albion even more.

A whipped in cross from Armstrong was met with a bullet header from Jenkins and its 2-2. Then controversy as the Albion supporters ( about 8 including ex villa legend Brendan Ormsby whose lad plays for Albion) went crazy after the referee dismissed 2 penalty appeals and booked 1 player for diving.

With normal time ended the Blues pushed again and with the ball falling at Granthams feet in the area, he cooly side footed home to give the blues a well earned 3 points and jettison them 4 places into 9th. The total points achieved 59 are 2 more than last season with still 10 league games to go showing the continued improvement made by the Club both on and off the pitch.
