A coaching game was did to be played between two Long Eaton United sides but gaffer Steve Welsh has capitalised on the chance for one final pre-season test.
He said: "Bullet and I spoke about having a coaching match next Tuesday but I just feel that some guys need another 90 minutes and we really want to test ourselves.
"I know we've got Boston here on Saturday but they'll be a different animal. They'll be young, they'll be very fit, so that's a challenge. But when you play against Alfreton you're playing against guys that have a lot of league games under their belt, are streetwise, won't be intimidated, and it'll be a real challenge for us.
"And if we can compete against the likes of Alfreton, then Bottesford shouldn't hold any fears for us."
Long Eaton United play Alfreton Town on Tuesday, August 1, kick off 7.45pm.
Tickets will cost £5 for adults and £3'for concessions.
