Longhoughton enjoy day at the Toon!
42 players and 7 coaches from the U-9, U-11 and U-13 squads enjoyed an action packed day at the Toon on Saturday 17 December.
The day began when the coach pulled up at Newcastle Uniteds first-team training centre in Benton where the boys watched Peter Beardsley training the reserves before the kids were put through their paces by NUFC coaches.
Then it was onward to St James Park where the kids enjoyed lunch before taking their seats at the NUFC v Swansea match which included a moving tribute to the late, great Gary Speed. 6 Longhoughton players were lucky enough to be ball boys and got close to the action and their heroes.
Another wonderful day which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the lads despite a rather lack-lustre draw...
