U-14s soar to new heights with RAF Boulmer! image

Longhoughton Rangers U14 squad spent a fantastic few hours at RAF Boulmer on their new climbing wall practising their climbing, abseiling and team work skills.
Manager Bob Pattinson said, “Having recently taken a number of new players into the squad this is a great chance for the team to do something different and get to know each other better, away from the football pitch.”
It’s hard to believe that 6 weeks ago, this group of young players were on the verge of folding as a team, and then to see them now all working together, and having fun, you can’t coach that. Throughout the session it was clear to see how good the team spirit was.
I’m really proud of all the lads as it has been a difficult period for them, but they have stuck together as a team and come through it all with smiles on their faces.
Jordan Moore and Kye Simpson, both new additions to the club were both quick to ask “when can we do it again as this is mint” however the session still had an hour to go.
There were many impressive performances during the session, in particular from Luke “the human fly” Evans and Joe “Spiderman” Beeby.
Special thanks go to the staff at RAF Boulmer particularly Flt Sgt Pete Hamilton and Cpl Steve Jones from the PEd Flight, for giving up the own time and making this such a great occasion for the lads.
