On a warm day Simon Webster won the toss and decided that he wanted to bat. There were a few changes to the team due to 1st team call ups however Long Lee were again in a confident mood. Long Lee made a steady start with Craig Pullen (4) and Janny Haider (13) opening the batting. Then the middle order started to amass the runs with Mick Hawkes (55) and Dave Collins (54) passing the half centuries. Then the lower order added some vital runs with Andrew Greenwood (18), Jimmy Cooney (11) and Nick Neal (9) chipping in to the final total of 189 all out. This was about 20 short of what we wanted but were still happy.

Then the 2nd innings started and Long Lee continued on from last week with Mick Hawkes and Andrew Greenwood opening the bowling and sharing 7 wickets. Then the juniors were brought on to bowl and swing king Jimmy Cooney picked up a wicket and then Jack Kennedy with his first senior over picked up the final batsmen. Connonly were all out for 29 runs meaning that Long Lee won by 160 runs.

Now attentions turn to the first round of the Cowling cup where Chatburn are the visitors to Golden view in what promises to be an entertaining war of the roses game.

Keep it going lad, well done.
