Sandy Lane 2nd's vs Long Lee 2nd's
the Winning Run Continues
On what could be described as a wet soggy day Captain Simon Webster lost the toss and was asked to bat.
The line up was assembled and J.Haider made an impressive 82 including 5 sixes. This was supported by 42 from John Day. The other batters chipped in helping the away side to 205 for 7 of their 45 overs.
We felt that was a good enough total but Long Lee had ten wickets to get and the chance of rain to think about. However it did start to rain, Wickets. Mick Hawkes got 5, Neil Kennedy got 4 and Jimmy Cooney finished the job off with a wicket. Simon Webster held on to 2 good catches. Sandy Lane were all out for just 44. Meaning that Long Lee won by 161 runs.
That is now 4 league wins in a row. We face a harder test at home against Bingley Congs next week but will be going in to the game in a confidant mood.
