2016 was a great year for us, with our first team playing in the preliminary rounds of the FA Cup and Fa Vase against teams, which have a significantly larger player and staff budget than ours. All of the players we have are playing for the love of the game and to test their abilities to become semi-professional footballers.
However, as part of our plans that saw us achieve Charter Standard Development Status, we implemented a structure that should see a steady influx of youth teams in future seasons, which can only be good for our future and it would seem that in future years, the major problem will be providing sufficient pitches for this rapidly growing section of the Club.
We current have youth facilities off Innsworth Lane, a clubhouse and Bar available for hire on Longford Lane and our First Team Men’s and Ladies teams play at Saw Mills.
Our vision is simple:
“To create a club and facilities supported by the local community and to create an environment for players to test themselves at that level of football to help them on their way to semi pro football.”
Our plan in the longer term and compromises the following.
• With an investment of over £20,000, we can create a first class facility at Saw Mills for our First team, Ladies Team and Under 18 Squad including turnstiles and hospitality.
• With investment of over £70,000, we can substantially improve our Clubhouse which has been kept going by the improvements made by volunteers and club members.
• With an investment of over £500,000 and FA Grant, we can improve our Saw Mills Pitch to create a centre where all of our teams can train and this can be used for other local schools and partnerships to use.
We want you to come on this journey with Longlevens and have various commercial packages for you to receive the best exposure to the local community.
