About the club

Long Marston Cricket Club field two senior sides in the Wetherby Cricket League, with fixtures played primarily on a Saturday and an U-11 side which play on Monday evenings. The club also take part in knockout Cup Competitions with matches, typically played on a Sunday or Tuesday evening. In the close season the club have practice nets at Archbishop Holgate's School February to April.

Long Marston has one of the best maintained squares in the Wetherby League with an artificial wicket alongside and a large field of play in a pleasant rural village setting. Tea and changing facilities in the Village Hall are the equal of any in the league.

In July 2008 the club hosted the only Old England match in Yorkshire that year when a Marston Invitation side achieved a draw against John Lever's XI. On the only sunny day of the month the club received many plaudits from spectators and cricketers alike for the event arrangements, the ground facilities and our glorious weather!

The 1st XI is currently in Division 3 of the Wetherby League and the 2nd XI in Division 4. Both sides are contesting promotion places in 2013, please see the fixtures section of the website. The club is always seeking new players to build on the base we already have. They could be of all abilities and ages, 1st and 2nd XI standard or just starting out.
