Longridge started the game very slowly and fell behind after just a few minutes. A ball over the top caught the defence out of position which was slotted home from the away teams striker. Just a few minutes later saw a bit of magic from Daniel Parkinson created a chance for Oliver Squires to bury home. The goal seemed to give Longridge a bit of a lift to push on and create numerous chances, most failing to trouble Whinney's Keeper.

Tables were turned once again as Whinney Hill took the lead again. But Longridge replied in barely no time with Jonny Timbrell setting up the prolific Squires for his second of the match. This goal gave Longridge the confidence to keep on attacking and creating the chances again for the strikers. Andrew Kucsper and Sam Robinson were key on gaining a hold of the game and creating the space for the wingers to create the chances.

The Longridge lads came out looking to carry on where they left off in the first half, but Whinney Hill had different ideas. Manager Walker acted upon the pressure and brought on Matt Priest to release some pressure on the defensive players. This change proved a good one as Parkinson broke free down the left gave it to Timbrell to put in the bag.

Longridge started playing sharp passes that broke up the Whinney Hill defence, which brought Squires to the ball to repay Parkinson for his hard work to make it 4-2. Longridge had the chances to put the game beyond all doubt but failed to score anymore.
