A boring old f**t comes out of the woodwork
I am in Canada.
I was browsing The Plough, Long Wittenham as my mother's family ran it for a 150 years. I saw the site for the football club and when I pulled up the site there was picture with two of my (great) uncles. I thought the photos (1910/11) were lost, as when I cleaned out my uncle's house Grape Vine I had left the photos on the kitchen table. When I went back into the kitchen the photos and kitchen table were gone, the Movers were too efficent. I was flying back to Canada the next day so I never did follow up. I had seen some pictures in The Vine so I knew there copies. I expect the picture were taken by my great grandfather, Gus Chambers, as he took most of the Village photos in those days. Harry second row left, Jim back row right. Harry Chambers ran The Plough and was the last of the Chambers to do that he left in '50s. Jim lived in Grape Vine and ran J Chambers Building & Contratcors. He was also the village undertaker. Sister Amy played the church organ for over 50 years and there is a plaque in the church to that effect. She was alos the village post mistress, at that time the post office was in Maywood directly across the High Street from the entrance to the church.
I have a few medals from those championship years, in the early 20th century,
which I will ahppily donate to the club if there is a use for them.

Hi Anthony,

Thanks a lot for getting in touch and hope you like the website, At the end of the season the club will be celebrating the 110th Anniversary, in which we are hoping to hold several events to look back on the highs and lows of the clubs past. Hopefully lots of people like yourself will be there to share great memories(Shame you live in Canada).

The Club would greatly appreciate your donation of the medals which we would love to display at the 110 year anniversary events.
