Youngsters supporting the Juniors

For many sports clubs to develop its own talent simply means bringing young players through their junior ranks, for the Loughborough Rugby Football Club, whilst playing talent is being nurtured the hopes of Chairman Dan Hatjiosif in his opening statement of intent in the summer of “the club aim to develop its own coaches from players, parents & supporters” is beginning to come to fruition, with not one but four youngsters playing a major part in the future of the Loughborough Rugby Football Club.

With an average age of just 18, four youngsters, Tom Peaty (20); Ben Ward (19); Kane Dalby (17) and Leah Bartlett (16) are playing a major part in the development of the players within the Loughborough Club as part of the Coaching team for the Under 14’s squad.

Having all played for various age groups of the Club all four have returned with the enthusiasm that is being past on to players that are the future of Loughborough RFC. Each one of the youngsters has the same outlook and desire, that of pushing each player to their full potential and as stated by fitness coach Leah Bartlett “looking to do something for the club” and nineteen year old Ben Ward “working with the community, not just the club”.

With the Club willing to support, not only this quartet but other Senior & Junior players as well as parents the Loughborough Rugby Football Club is laying the foundations to fulfil Chairman Hatjiosif’s desire that the club “is sustainable for future generations”.
