Today I received an email from Simon Enright, son of Gerry, advising that he, Gerry had passed away last week aged 81yrs after suffering for some months from bowel cancer.

Those of you who remember Gerry will know that he played for the club for many years and captained Loughborough RFC in the 1960/70's, being 1st XV captain for a few years.

For those of you who wish to attend, his funeral and wake it is on Friday 19th May 2017 at 0930 hrs at

I will most certainly have missed from this circulation some of the older members who knew and played with Gerry eg Johnny Fowkes, Trev Clarke, Barry Prior, Bob Small, Dave McKnight, Ivor Isaac, Spoff Isaac, Alan Waters etc - if you have contact details for anyone , please let them know so we have a reasonable turn out from the Club at his funeral.
