L'boro 3's hold on to tough win.

First and foremost, apologies, I was unable to attend the first half of the match (Except the last few minutes..) So I cannot really report as to what happened. Ian jones promises me that Loughborough were the dominant side. Darren Bradburn seemed to really enjoy the freedom of playing Flanker and Adrian Leitao should have cored more than he did. ( His blistering run through Leicester forests defence was the only play I witnessed) Unfortunately, he didn't back himself to outpace the fullback and decided to do an impression of the pony in the Three Mobile advert.

Ethan Barnes never made it to LFE, despite texting Captain Dave Talbot at 12:15 saying he would meet at LFE ground for 1pm.. This Left Mike Turner having to move from full back to Fly half as well as standing in as capatin for the otherwise engaged Dave Talbot and Ben Litchfield stepped up to the plate as full back... Again, didn't see alot of the first half but was impressed with Ben's Positioning and ball catching. Solid 5 minute performance Ben. The only reason it wasn't more was because Dave Talbot had turned up and was determined to make up for last weeks poor performance as Full back.

Although Dave had a much improved game and made some good runs, he was unable to replicate Tom Thorntons try scoring run from the week before.

Tom Peaty, Ian jones, Alex shephard and Ian 'The Tank' Johnson all put in solid performances but were unable to use the extra bulk to push LFE off the ball in scrums.

Adrian Leitao Produced a MAn of the match performance scoring 3 tries and could have had more, without fear, Adrian ran through the defence at every opportunity, unfortunately, he would do so at such a speed that none of the Loughborough Players could keep up to support him. Mike Turner scored a try on the line and under the posts after selling a dummy pass to Rowan paterson and a gap opened up in front of him.

Rowan was unlucky not to beat his dropped balls record today, A helpful Darren Bradburn was counting on the sidelines and constantly reminding him how many he had left.. If only Darren could have shown the same aptitude with numbers on the lineout calls, perhaps things could have been smoother.

Adam Clarke, Jake Dobinson and Will dowd once again showed how fortunate Loughborough are to benefit from having a university that provides a years supply of beans and lard on toast at the start of every year to all of it's students.

Rhys Williams would have had as good a game in attack as he did in defence if he wasn't outside of Rowan Paterson (Perhaps rowan had stolen some of Adams lard and covered his hands in it?) On the rare occasion Rhys had the ball, he would use it to supply Frazer or Mike Townsend on the wings.. It was a long day for the wingers.

Stand in Captain Mike Townsend said the truest words I have ever heard him say after the match... To win like we did today, shows the greatness of this team. One of the least impressive performances of the season, but defensively we gave nothing. Not even an inch.. (Except the 3 times they scored.)'

Anyway, Loughborough 3's are now top of the league with a game in hand and 2 points clear. Cosby is the last league game of the year in 2 weeks. Big win will finish the year off nicely lads.. Well done to everyone involved!
