One half of Dynamo's new management team sat down with Pete Pheasant after the Kidsgrove game.

New managers jason Maguire and Lee Morris have set their sights on maintaining Dynamo’s promotion challenge after seeing their quickly-assembled side denied victory over Kidgsrove on Saturday.

Lee and Jason were not officially appointed until Wednesday night and did not have a goalkeeper until 5pm on Friday. Then Loughborough University’s Jack Howard answered the call and, with a crop of young players joining those who had stayed loyal to the club, the side battled its way to a deserved point in Staffordshire.

After the Kidsgrove gam Lee sat down with Pete Pheasant, Joe's Father, for an interview.“The performance was far above and beyond what I had hoped for – and we should have won it,” Lee said. “It’s a credit to the boys that they gelled so quickly and got on with it in the manner that they did.”

The new management duo had been expected to form Tommy Brookbanks’ coaching squad at Coalville but Lee said: “It’s been a worrying time for the club, then it looked as though we were turning the corner and we’ve got control again, and it didn’t feel the right fit to us to be leaving the lads in the lurch.

“We’ve been through all of that as a group and to be going when there seemed to be light at the end of the tunnel didn’t feel right. With the group of lads who have stuck around, it seemed like the right decision to stick together and try to get through this as a group together.”

Lee said he and Jason would be aiming to bring in new players during the next few weeks.

“We have a core of really good lads but we only had three subs, including me, on Saturday. Some of the lads we’ve brought in aren’t quite 100 per cent fit and we’ve got some young lads who are going to need help over the course of the season.

“We want players who are going to keep us challenging, because we’ve got ourselves into a good position in the league and the focus is to try and keep ourselves in the hunt. These opportunities don’t come around too often and we need to stay as high up as we can and keep fighting.”
