Dynamo go into Saturday’s home match against Romulus on a high after a performance at Carlton described as “brilliant” by joint manager Lee Morris.

It was Dynamo's first leaue win under the new management and Lee said that while avoiding relegation was obviously Dynamo’s first target, they should now look higher.

“We had added a bit more grit to our performance at Goole but still needed to score, so it was nice to add the goals.

“It was another gritty performance against Carlton. I thought we out-fought them and added a bit of quality going forward.

“The most pleasing thing was the way we went about it at 1-1. We had the wind behind us in the first half and put them under a lot of pressure and knew the second half was going to be a lot tougher, so when they scored and there was 20-25 minutes left, we thought it could go badly. But we dug in and then went and scored two quick goals and were comfortable.

“The way we reacted when the chips were down showed a bit more belief than we probably have done in the past.

“Ash Way was a threat from start to finish. I think he’s starting to find his proper form now and I was pleased for Matt Langham as well. Since we’ve been in charge we’ve said he needs to be fit and needs some goals, so he’s gone away with the reserves and shown a brilliant attitude and got fit and it’s no surprise that he’s come back and scored.

“Mason is looking really strong and with him, Dawks and Rocky in midfield, we are looking a lot stronger.

“But I thought we were strong all round.”

Lee has watched Romulus twice in recent weeks and says they are a hard-working side who are strong at set-pieces.

He added: “I think we are starting to look like the team we want to look like again. Tuesday shows what we can do when we go out with belief.

“There are definitely green shoots showing and we’ve got to look at ourselves and believe in a little bit more than staying up.”
