Loughborough Dynamo 3 - Belper Town 4
Dynamo’s participation in this seasons FA Competitions ended on Saturday when they lost an highly entertaining FA Trophy game four three to Belper Town.
From the restart Dynamo pressed forward but were almost caught out when Belper hit them on a counter attack, following a Dynamo free kick just outside of the Belper area, the counter attack ended with a low cross across the face of Dynamos goal but Young had tracked back and got the vital touch and conceded a corner. Midway through the half and a clash between David Blekinsopp and Aaron Chapman left the Belper in some distress resulting in a lengthy delay and he had to be substituted, but Dave Ratcliffe’s first touch of the ball was to pick it out of the net when Richards played in Louis Hamilton who picked his spot and scored Dynamo’s second equaliser. Belper again took the game to Dynamo and restored their lead in the seventy sixth minute when Richard Stirrup, who had stayed up following a corner, headed come from a cross delivered by Ryan Mallon. Three minutes later and Belper gave themselves breathing space when Jordan Ball scored his second and Belper’s fourth. It looked as though Dynamo were down and out but the game took another twist when Blenkinsopp and Jake Dale- Brown linked to set up Dom Brennan, but he was brought down, inside the area, before he could shoot. The referee pointed to the spot and Blenkinsopp converted the penalty. Try as they might Dynamo could not repeat last week’s feat and grab a late equaliser.
