Alvechurch rain in the goals
Alvechurch FC continued their fine start to the season with a comprehensive 3-0 away to Loughborough Dynamo, in awful conditions on Tuesday evening.
With both sides struggling to string passes together early on in torrential rain the defining moment of the game came in the 33rd minute when Dynamo midfielder Jared Holmes received a second yellow card for a late challenge on Babucar Sauane.
Worse was to come for Dynamo in first half stoppage time as Alvechurch striker Luke Keen found space on the edge of the area to unleash an unstoppable effort which grazed the crossbar as it flew into the net.
As the rain continued to fall and Alvechurch starting to dominate proceedings, the away team benefitted from a goalkeeping howler as William Jaaskelainen let a weak shot from full-back Bekir Halil squirm under his body and into the goal.
With the game as good as over, striker Yusifu Ceesay turned his defender on the edge of the area before finishing well into the bottom corner from 12 yards to seal a deserved 3-0 victory.
