History
The club also recieved 4 donations these being The Marchon shield , The Curwen Cup , The British Steels Cup And £25 From The WhiteHaven R.L.S.C. It was also a sad end to the season as we said goodbye to our Secretary Allan Johnstone (Haggis) who was leaving to go to Canada. Allen along with Hubert Donnan , Billy Armstrong , John Spedding , Brian robbottom , Billy Timmins , Ronnie Campbell Billy Milligan , G. Allen to name a few were the founder Members of the club which met in the "Ship Public House" When we first started we never really had a coach but Robert Wilson Used to take us training , Our 1st Coach was the late Gordon Robb who in the 1st 4 years moulded a team together but something was not clicking so Mr Robb Stood down and Kenny Todd took over the helm The club owed a great gratitude to Mr Robb For bringing the lads together , During the coming years we were to win the 1st Division Title 3 times And Runners up in the Cumberland cup 4 times There was success though In the 7 a side comp's .
During our time we have had some great lads and lasses in helping to make the club a success people that should never be forgotten as players or as though's that have worked behind the scence's some names that come to mind are: Players Joe Elliot , Brian Oldfield , Ian vince and Brian Heslop, The Ennis clan Brian john Martin Tony Billy Trever. Alan Todd Micheal Walker , David Parker , Jimmy Quinn , Jeff Donnan , Rodney Holliday , Derek Wood , John Dawson , Gary Linford , And all those lads mentioned in the founder members list , As well as todays team lead by who i believe wears his Lowca badge in his heart captain Lee Allen along with Phil Anderson, Gary and Richard Haile. The list is long and painful to try and remember . Those that have worked behind the scene Include Bobby Armstrong , Billy Parker , Joe and Vena Fulton ,Susan, Marjorie , Marion, Audrey
these last 5 ladies made soup and sarnies for yrs on match days and never once complained or asked for a penny but paid out of there own pockets!!for that we owe a great debt of gratitude also John and Margaret Anderson , Mim and Allen for tall they done to get the New Club up and running But great thanks To Peter Robson Brian Jamieson and the rest of the committee for once again for turning the club around.
Last Not we forget the characters that made the club John Doyle , John "Paddy" Johnston , And Mr Billy Kennedy .
Over the years we have had some great coaches Tommy Thomson , Paul Charlton , Phil Charlton, Gary Smith , But Possibly the greatest on of them all Allan McCurrie He loved the Club loved his job and treated everyone with the same respect a true pro.
Our 1st President was Mr David Morton A perfect gentleman but when he stood down in Came Mr Steve Williams Steve is not only the president he is the life and saviour of theclub many times over , without his backing there would be no club and another person who also spent many Hrs helping to see the new club was Mr Russel Hetherington And so m,any thanks go to many many people for making Lowca Rugby Club what it was and is today ,
We are now starting up our Youth rugby which was 1st started in 1983 by Mr G.Allen and Mr R. Campbell with there band of helpers in the U17s at the time Its Now got Carl Ennis , Lee Weighman ,Lee Allen as coaches trying to set up another generation to be the future of Lowca A.R.L.F.C.
