Lowestoft Railway 5 - 1 Ipswich 3
Railway outpace opposition for important win
Railway Started a double header this weekend against Ipswich 3. With the game between the two being a close fort one, Railway wanted to get onto the front foot straight from the off. The first goal of the game saw the railway front two combine, with David Berry taking on the Ipswich defence and slipping the ball to Hudson who couldn't miss into the open goal. Railway doubled their lead when this time Troy Allen ran passed the Ipswich defence to then put the ball into Berry who's powerful shot found the Ipswich bottom corner. Railway continued to play open, expansive hockey. Dan Croft using the aerial threat well for the forwards to outpace the defence and have chances on goal. It was from a chance a short corner was given. It was Jamie Ayers who stepped up to drag flick the ball past the helpless Ipswich keeper.
Railway continued to control the game. With both wings being used, Hall and Mortimer were able to push up from the back to put balls into the Ipswich D, but the defence kept Railway at bay. Ipswich started to get a foothold into the game and started to have chances themselves but with Robbie Guy in fine form, all threats at goal were dealt with. With Ipswich pushing forward to try and get back into the game, Railway used the counter attack to great effect. First with Neil Hudson finding Sam Daniels in the D to flick the ball over the keeper, then with Hudson being provider again, this time to David Berry to slot home into the bottom corner.
Railway hope to take this form into their game on Sunday against IES 4.
