IES 1 - 2 Lowestoft Railway
Railway keep the winning streak going.
Railways second game of the weekend took them to Ipswich to play IES 4. The game started with Railway keeping control of the ball, giving a structured and progressive attack towards the IES goal, with chances from Troy Allen and David Berry being stopped by the IES keeper. It was a ball sent wide by Ayers to Hall who in turn found David Berry at the top of the D gave Railway the lead, with berry's shot too hot to handle by the IES keeper to rocket into the net. IES then started to fight back, but the defence of Croft, Barnard, Trindall, and Hall halted attack after attack at the Railway goal. With ten minutes before half time, IES finally cracked the Railway defence to bring the score line level. With minutes to go before half time it was Hall again down the left hand side who drove forward and crashed a ball into the D, Mortimer running on goal provided a telling touch to send the ball over the keeper into the top of the IES goal.
IES were determined to get back into the game at the start of the second half, with Railway starting to sit deeper to fend off the IES attacks. Robbie Guy having an excellence second half performance by stopping shot after shot by the IES attack to keep Railway in the lead. With only eleven men taken, and having played the day before, Railway started to show signs of fatigue but in the true Railway way, never gave up and dug in to keep the lead and get a valuable win.
