As part of their development this season the U11 Pinks have played a series of mid week games against top class opposition.
This time it was a trip to play Unita Academy on grass , under the lights at Ossett Albion's first team pitch.
Unita were excellent opposition for the Pinks over the course of 4x 20 minute quarters , which sums up the evening.
Quote below from Phil
' I watched a great spectacle of U11's football tonight
We may have been beaten and deserving so by a big strong skillfull Unita side
What pleased me after the 2nd 1/4 that the boys realised they had to work harder and when we got the ball we had to keep it.
The boys applied this and deservedly got results from it.'
The idea in playing these sides is that it puts the lads outside their comfort zone , they have embraced the taks put in front of them the results of which can be seen throughout the season.
The boys today showed their quality in showing that the gap between top grassroots teams and expensive paid Academies is negligible
Well done lads tonight.
