The blacks squad were visited by Whinmoor jrs on a fine morning of junior football
The pinks started well creating some good chances but were unable to put them away.
Midway through the half Harley put his body on the line, making a tremendous save but unfortunately injuring himself in the process. Jacob nominated himself to go in goal and did his team proud with some great saves. Alex was back on fine form along with Oliver in defence who kept the opposition quiet. Jack marshalled the midfield with another great display. Uzzy managed to get himself on the scoresheet with a fine finish from Lucas assist just before half time.
The second half stated very well as the midfield of William and Kostas kept pressuring well to keep the opponents deep in their half and playing some great balls to Mackenzie, brajan and Lucas up top. The pressure paid off when Brajan added to his impressive goal tally with a simple finish
Whinmoor quickly replied with a goal back to set up a nervy final 10 minutes.
The pinks didn’t let their heads go down and the game was put to bed from a Lucas corner and an unfortunate own goal.
A cracking mornings football which gets the pinks back on track
Player of the match was Kostas for a tireless performance. He is getting better week after week and this was well deserved, although this was great team effort for a positive result
