For the second week running Lydney picked up a bonus point win with a hard fought victory at Clifton.
The siege gun boot of Brett Turner
put the visitors ahead on 8 minutes with a penalty from 40mtrs,
On 11 minutes a well worked move ending with a clever chip through from Craig Jones that was gathered by Chris Holder gave Lydney there first try, converted by Turner.
Clifton clawed there way into contention with a converted try, but Turner kicked a penalty and converted his own try to send them in at half time with a 20 - 7 lead.
It was always going to be more difficult with the wind and the slope in the second half and so it proved, but this is now a team with character and spirit and this was shown as Clifton got within 3 points of leveling the scores but tries from Dave Bennett
and the final sucker punch when Clifton had forced uncontested srcums, they then played uncontested rugby as Jim McMahon picked up from the base of the scrum and strode over unopposed to seal a fine victory.
In a good all round performance Ben Lewis was outstanding making tackles that stopped Clifton attacks time after time.
