At the beginning of the game Lydney quickly went behind as they gave away three penalties in the first 15 minutes. They soon hit back however with Chris Holder touching down after a chip ahead.
Jersey hit back with a try of their own but then a thrilling Lydney move put Craig Jones over in the corner for Lydney's second try of the game.
Two more penalties from Jersey sent them in at half time with a narrow lead.
Early in the second half Tim Longton crashed over for Lydney's third try.
Jersey and Lydney then traded penalties to keep the scores ticking over.
Finally late in the game Jersey managed to score their second try in the corner to deny Lydney the draw that they richly deserved.
Lydney came away from the game with a losing bonus point and the satisfaction of winning the try count three to two.
