3rd Team bosses in gamble scandal!!
Betting frenzy in clubhouse!!
With Saturday's 3rd team game becoming a victim of the weather, joint management team of Stuart Liddington and John Hopson found themselves in the bar a little earlier than usual. With no Premiership game on telly it was left to Gloucester and Harlequins to provide the aftermatch entertainment. After some heated debates weighing up the few good points in egg chasing, the chat turned to good old Lydney Rugby Club and some of the big teams they had faced in the past. When the famous match against Saracens in the Pilkington Cup came up there was a minor dissagreement between Stuart and Hoppy over what the final score was on the day. Stuart nailed his colours to the mast with a bold shout of Lydney going down 40 points to nil. With Hoppy having sank a few 1664's he decided that Lydney were actualy hammered by around the 80 point to nil mark. After asking a couple of local rugby celebrities in the bar, and then getting Ashley to Google it, the bet had gone from £5 to £10 and ended with the price of a ticket to Gloucester's next home game!!! I decided that the wait for the answer had gone on long enough for me and they were still debating it when i left. On arriving home i had a text from Stuart(pictured) to announce the final score was indeed 40-0, and so he was ready to collect. My only advice to Hoppy would be to slow the 1664 down a little, it does strange things to your memory.
