Cup and League Results

Bluefin Sport Challenge Cup
The biggest cup upset of the day came from Lydney Town. Currently in runner up spot in Division One West they overcame their visitors, Premier Division, Kidlington. The home team were three goals ahead with goals from Jarred Liddington, Pat Gibbs and Rich Kear. Two goals in the last two minutes from Ryan Curtin did give them a fright, but they saw it out for a place in the second round.
Without a league point this season Cheltenham Saracens entertained Ardley United, and made them work hard for a win. Cheltenham took the lead through Jordan Bryant, before a brace from Kieran Scott won the game for the visitors.
A real local derby took place at Finchampstead from Division One, when they took on Binfield in third place in the Premier. The home side took the lead early in the game from a Nick Payne goal. Binfield equalised through Gary Callaway before the interval. With no further goals in the second half, the game moved to extra-time. Jack Broome won the game for Binfield late in the second period. A hat-trick from Richard Claydon saw Milton United through in local derby with Abingdon United.

One West
Cirencester Town Development put four past visitors Wantage Town. Tom Luce, Danny Gudger, Robbie James and Shane Bumphrey were all on target for the home side whilst a brace from Rocky Whiting were the visitor’s replies. Fairford Town won the battle of the bottom two clubs at Letcombe. Two first half goals from Tom Ballard and Jack Allen saw them home. Runaway league leaders Longlevens went to Purton and were made to battle for the points. The home side kept them at bay until the 84th minute when substitute Brad Martin scored. A late own goal doubled the lead. Before today both Tuffley Rovers and visitors Shortwood United had scored 16 goals. The home side were in third place as they had conceded only 6 times. Whereas Shortwood had conceded 20 more times and were further down the table. However although Tuffley took the lead through Brett James, it was Shortwood that took the points with two goals Craig Mills. Tytherington Rocks who started in 10th place took three points at home to New College Swindon who were just one place below them. Three first half goals from John Timlin, Dan Marshall, James Brock showed the way. Then it got very close as Christy Millar and Dave Kinuthia pulled goals back for the visitors.
