Late leveller denies Town.

After securing a second pre-season win against Witheridge in Devon on Saturday, Lydney faced a real stern task at home against Southern League outfit Shortwood Utd on Tuesday night.

Former Town defender Niall Halford lined up against his old team mates for Shortwood, but midfielder Adam Price was still on holiday. The early exchanges failed to create many goal scoring chances but the visitors probably missed the best of them, although Pete Macklin's volley brought the keeper to his knees.

Town came much more into the game in the second half, with the midfield finding their men with some neat passes.
Town made the breakthrough with a good passing move that ended with Jarred playing in Kerry Hale who curled a beauty into the far corner.

Harry Williams who had replaced Lewis Halford at half time nearly added a second a minute later but the keeper made a decent stop.
Shortwood were always a threat as the game got stretched and scored a deserved equaliser 5 minutes from time.
A decent crowd were treated to a solid Town performance against a side that will be plying their trade this season a level above.
Good performance.
