[b]With the first team involved in a 0-0 draw at home it was left to our other sides to provide the drama at the weekend.
Firstly, the 3rd team fresh from their Charity Cup final win faced a Blakeney side they had beaten 4-1 only last week. After missing a first half penalty, Ricky Burcher added 2 more goals to his tally before Blakeny hit back to lead.
Veteran Jon Buckle came off the bench with 5 minutes left and scored a worldy (his words) to take the game into a penalty shoot out.
To say is was a disaster is putting it mildly. Ellis played like he was wearing a straight jacket and our kicks were atrocious. Blakeney's were a tad better and they went through 3-2. Move on to next week now lads.
The 4th team also on a high after their Charity Cup final win suffered a similar fate at Mitcheldean. Dan Baldwin's goal saw them draw the game 1-1 but they then lost their penalty shoot out 5-4.
Better news for the Reserves who came back from a goal down with 10 minutes left to win 2-1 at Smiths.
Liam Nelmes hit a beauty to level the scores and when Rich Evans picked out Harry Williams with the ball of the day, he despatched in fine style to seal the points and move the lads up into 7th spot in the table[/b
