Reserves end on a high
Reserve team thump 5 past 4th placed Stroud
After winning just the one game of their last 8, a 1-0 win at neighbours Woolaston, at least the lads put on a great display to complete the season. Fourth placed Stroud Harriers were the visitors down the Rec but they found themselves on the end of a 5-0 hammering.
It took a while for us to settle but when Harry(pictured) played in Billy English after 25 minutes, his first touch created space for him to score with a fine shot to open the scoring.
Harry made it 2 ten minutes later when the ball fell kindly for him to volley home. The boys went in 2-0 up at the break.
It was all Town in the second half and we bagged 3 more. Tom Maxted, making a rare start on a Saturday, showed his quality on the hour mark, beating a defender on the edge of the box before smashing home off the post.
Harry hit second on 80 minutes to make it 4-0 when Derry crossed for him to fire home another sweet volley.
Charlie Powell completed the rout with 5 minutes left beating the keeper in a one on one.
Overall, after the drubbing by Quedgley in the week the lads finished the season in fine style to give us hope that we have plenty to work with next season. The man of the match went to the team on the day after such a good display.
