An under-strength Broadwell Reserve side rocked up at The Rec on Saturday and were put to the sword by a rejuvenated Lydney Reserves.Following 3 consecutive wins the confidence flooded through the side and Lydney took the lead after only 5 minutes.
Ross Gabriel swung in a cross from the right and Jacob English cut back inside to flash a great shot past the keeper.
Sam Wines increased the lead after 24 minutes when he lobbed the keeper from the edge of the box.
Town were awarded a penalty 5 minutes before half time and Ross Gabriel made no mistake from 12 yards.
The Well continued to battle hard, non more so than Phil Delaney who belied his years in midfield.
Gabriel's cut back set up Charlie to finish with a neat side footed effort on 50 minutes, before Sam Wines bagged the goal of the day with a blistering free kick from 25 yards.
Broadwell's Danny Latham was rewarded for his efforts on 78 minutes when he scored from close range to reduce the arrears.
The scoring was completed by Charlie when he was on the end of Gabriel's knock down at the far post 2 minutes from time.
The win sets us up for the visit of high flying English Bicknor on Bank Holiday Monday.
