Brothers Stuart and Matt Hussey were the toast of Lymington Town as the clubs management duo made the headlines at Alresford on Saturday.
Playing because of eight players either on the treatment table or suspended, the brothers each notched a goal - one in each half - to earn Town a hard-fought 2-1 win.
Having given Town the lead with an exquisite run and chip, Alresford levelled up through Dean Cole before sub Stuart Hussey's 25-yard screamer sealed the points six minutes from time.
Matt Hussey prefered to focus on the teams 'character' rather than get carried away with the achivements of him and his younger sibling.
"It was about the team," he said. "Yes, it was nice for Stuart and I to both score and win the game but the whole team deserved a lot of praise.
"Of course we are happy with our goals, but this was about character and everyone pulling together and everyone contributed.
"Even at half-time we knew with the players we had we could go on and win the game. I thought we were at seventy-five per cent. There was a lot more in the tank.
"What I didn't expect was my younger brother to come on as sub and score the winning goal the way he did. He only signed on Friday because of the players we had available in the squad."
Matt Hussey gave Town the lead in the tenth minute with a fine run and exquisite chip. Picking up the ball Hussey turned his marker for dead and advanced to the edge of the box, before deftly chipping the stranded Chris Waller, who could only watch the ball drop into the corner of the net.
Dean Cole, James Eyles and Ashley Ledger all had chances, before Cole levelled up. The striker was set up by Eyles, turned Jemal Rose and fired inside the near post.
Lymington continued to threaten and former Town defender Graham Bird had to hurriedly clear his lines from Ben Thomson's centre.
The arrival of Dan Caiete added more vibrancy to the Alresford attack as the striker saw a shot deflected wide and moments later was thawted by Stuart Williamson.
Bird smacked the post minutes later and Gareth Byres produced a goal saving clearance from Caiete, after rounding Williamson.
Having survived a scare or two it was Stuart Hussey who produced a moment of magic to clinch three priceless points for Town.
Picking up a loose pass Hussey skillfully turned his marker and unleashed a shot that arrowed into the top corner, giving Waller no chance.
Despite Caiete threatening to level matters, this was Town's day and the celebrations at the final whistle tell you this was a win that was hard fought.
The last word from the Town boss was a dedication to vice-chairman Richard Maton who lost his brother on Wednesday.
"This was for Rich and his family," added Hussey. "Our best wishes go to him and everyone through this difficult time. This win was dedicated for them."
