Well at last our lads get a game. After waiting several weeks and attending several frustrating training sessions we took our first trip away. On the bus at 0830 off at 0900 at Cupar as bus broke down on at 0915 and off to Boroughmuir RFC. With only a short warm up the boys got straight into the game. We decided to send Campbell through first and with a swift catch and pass Campbell scored his quickest try yet 10 Seconds (WOW)!. Conversion from young Ramsay took us ahead. However there was a large amount of time were the passing and catching was scrappy and the boys gave Boroughmuir to much space to run. Lucky for us we had a good defense which allowed us to hold. Joseph M was the wall holding from 2-5 players in most of the rucks.

Soon after Campbell managed to push through with support from Nic and Lewis to stretch the lead. Going into the second half the boys constantly gave Boroughmuir too much space and there were several attempts at our try line but each time we managed to clear with our strong defense. Boroughmuir did finally push through to score a Try and convert. In the scrum Nathan G did not give Boroughmuirs scrum half a chance he was on him constantly but play became scrappy with some fists thrown. The boys played on and behind the 22 Boroughmuir took a clearance kick which was slammed down by Nic and pick up by Lewis to score the final try. Final score 11-4 to Madras.

My feelings for today was that the boys were a wee bit nervous due to it being there first away match. After some discussion Andy and I decided to award man of the match to Joseph M. Very vocal in his role of Captain, Hooking skills in the scrum were spot on and as for his rucking I'm not sure if there is anyone out there that can compete with him. Well done Joseph. Thoughts for players, IN THEIR FACE !!!! Do not give the opposition a chance to run I think a little more awareness of what is going on around you. Passing needs some work and some basic catching skills will be offered at training next week. I know that I have not mentioned everyone's name but please note that you all had a part to play and that everyone of you made it happen.

Thoughts for coaches, None we are perfect in every way just like Mary Poppins. Only joking, we need to see more of the good things I find my self seeing the mistakes and missing the good things sometimes. Overall another win and a well done to you all we are still proud of you at the end of the day your the ones that are playing. See you all on Tuesday.
