A fantastic line up with teams travelling from as far as Ayr and Aberdeen setting the scene for what was to be a brilliant day of rugby. The P5 team comprised of Finlay Foulkes, Finlay Duncan, Scott Christie, Connor Harcus, Angus McCallum, Tom Pendry, Liam O’Broin, Josh Malherbe, Logan Parsons and Callum Cook. The team played well for the first match against a strong Stewart’s Melville team managing to secure a 4 -4 draw on their campaign trail. Melrose next proved to be a tough match with a determined side beating the home team 7-4. Undeterred Madrascals dug deep and put their hard training into action securing a crucial win against Edinburgh Accies, 9-5. With the possibility of a place in the finals Madrascals had a tough match against Heriots, the team pulled together and with some fantastic tackling and tries winning 8-5 earning themselves a place in the runners up final. The final against Ayr was a close match with both teams pulling together with brilliant displays of rugby and teamwork ending on close victory for Ayr 8-6. A tremendous result for the P5’s who have shown commitment and hard work throughout and well done also to Logan Parsons who won the P5 Players Award.
