Madras and St Leonards Combine Forces

We are delighted to write to you with news for next season and beyond.

Attached is a letter jointly from Michael Carslaw and Colin McAdam, headmaster St Leonards and Club President of Madras respectively, which details exciting plans for Youth Rugby in our community.

This agreement has come as a result of really positive inputs to many discussions by a number of parties all with the single aim of improving the provision of rugby for young people in our community and providing them the greatest opportunities. This initiative really starts to develop a pathway for young people playing rugby in our community from P1 through to 18 years old and we feel this is very important for the long term development of young people in our community and as such we ask that all involved engage with a positive approach and a view to the long term success of this initiative.

Launch Day will be in the morning of Saturday 26th August at Station Park, more details will follow but we would like to encourage all kids, parents and coaches to come down to the club on that morning.

The club would like to thank Stephen Mercer (Director of Rugby) and all others involved in getting this amazing initiative up and running.
