The Blues Weekend Round Up

The Blues Weekend Round Up image

The Under 14 team proved the highlight of a quieter weekend.

The young Blues stormed to a tremendous 5-2 victory in their NIBFA National League derby game against local rivals Cookstown Youth. Conor McCluskey (pictured) bagged two of the goals. This levels the Blues in joint third with a host of other sides.

The Under 16 team slipped out of the NIBFA Cup when they went down 2-0 to Lisburn Distillery at home. In a very poor game played in heavy winds the young Blues failed to demonstrate the excellent play which has taken them to the top of their league. They will be disappointed as they will know they could have done so much better.

Meanwhile the Under 12’s also slipped out of the NIBFA Cup as well when they were ‘bullied’ into submission in the 2-0 home defeat to North Belfast United. It is not often you get too many red cards in youth games but the visitors did and that epitomised their attitude to the overall game. The young Blues will be disappointed but can hold their heads high as they maintained their dignity throughout.

Finally the Reserves narrowly lost out to Glebe Rangers Reserves going down 2-1.
