After being crowned winter league champions the week before we came up against Ormskirk once again this time in the cup.

We didnt start as bright as the week before and the game was pretty even until a challenge just inside the area gave Ormskirk a penalty.
Josh went the right way but was unable to keep the ball out and Ormsirk went into the lead early on.

The lads slowly started to get themselves together and started to control the game a bit more. An early injury to Shaun Seddon meant we had to make an early change at the back with Matthew Whalley taking his place.

We finally got the equalising goal when some great build up play saw Charlie Bennett rifle the ball home.

We continued to dominate from this point but Ormsirk still had a number of chances which the lads at the back dealt with.

The winning goal came when a ball from the left was chested down by Daniel Cliffe who then slotted the ball past the keeper from six yards.

Celebrations were short lived when our goalkeeper Josh Walker gave us all a fright when he went down struggling for breath after taking a catch on the windpipe. Fortunately after a ten minute break Josh was feeling better and was brave enough to carry on.

The lads did really well again this week keeping their unbeaten record intact. They didnt start well and had to come from a goal behind and they showed real character and determination.

MOM- this week goes to Cory Hodson who won every header and battled hard in the midfield also made some excellent passes.

WELL DONE LADS!
